Upcycled Containers
Wata El Joz, Lebanon | 2017
Project Type:
Cidery Laboratory
Designed for Wata Apple Cider in Wata El Joz, a region renowned for its thriving apple orchards, this project was built to withstand the area’s dramatic seasonal shifts from lush greenery in spring and summer to heavy snowfall in winter.
A repurposed shipping container was the ideal choice, offering a durable, all-season structure that could endure the harshest elements. Nestled within a garden of trees, the design features two off-shifted cantilevered containers, installed in two phases to accommodate the cidery’s expansion.
We take pride in being part of Wata Apple Cider’s journey, as they went on to receive international recognition for their exceptional cider. This project embodies our commitment to transforming spaces into functional, innovative environments that grow alongside the businesses they support.
Interior space
The laboratory’s interior was designed with simplicity and functionality in mind.
Floor-to-ceiling French windows flood the space with natural light and provide seamless access to the outdoors. Meanwhile, mirrored closets reflect the vibrant garden outside, creating an immersive connection with nature, an ideal backdrop for crafting the organic products at the heart of the brand.
Second Floor | Modular Installation
The installation was designed with a modular approach, allowing for future expansion. Additional containers can be stacked or connected to create more workspace as needed, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for growth.
